If anet was worried about SF, they would have nerfed it today (Thursday), the weekly day for skill updates.

Since they didn't do anything to SF even after weeks of people complaining and ecto prices dropping, I am willing to bet they will either ignore it completely, or do a half-hearted nerf next week.

Whether this will cause ectos to stablize, no one knows, but I am confident it will never go back up to 5.5k again.

If you read through the entire thread there is more than enough information about economics to make you a better investor, both here and in life. I still chuckle about people trading futures on oil and nay-saying it would never top $60/barrel. Where are they now?

Before I had read up to the posts regarding using 100K + 20ZK I had the same thoughts. So, start getting your Zaishen Keys ... ladies. Sort of.

I'd bank my money on Z keys also, there are always people looking to buy, and people selling are at a low like 10:1, they're hot cakes.

mm. Like me and many other persons, i dont think ppl would have bought their obsis etc when ectos were 15k/ea & shard ~4k/ea.. well you cant change that was is allready done but i hope this will stop.

I stongly agree. The days of 5.5/6k+ ectos are gone. Even if they nerf SF (I feel they are going to), people will just go back to the older perma-form builds (unless they really hit it hard, which I doubt).

lol, sorry mate but you just sound lazy, there is plenty of builds that can do UW, its just perma SF is easiest....

if they nerf it, look for another build that will work, people have been doing it since GW came out and people started going to UW.

I disagree, people who buy zkeys generally use them, so if people who are trying to accumulate wealth by zkeys, then demand will very quickly be far greater than supply. The rich players need something they can store up, not something that many people want to USE up.

the big hubub is that ectos are used as currency, which was really rather foolish to do ever since we've had lockpicks and other items of static value. Why stock up on a form of currency that is subject to inflation and deflation when there's another option?

If demand is greater than supply, obviously you have a prime investment. What's the point of hoarding ecto's when there is no demand for them, which is exactly what's happening. Many people must have dumped their ecto to the trader, and continue to do so. Really though, GW's community has been using a source of currency that has been duped/faked and our bought at low prices, only a matter of time before it would take a shit on everyone.

Agreed that zkeys would be a good investment, but my point was that the rich players need a currency that is readily available, zkeys are not. Ectos were always chosen not because of the possible investment, but because they are readily available, of high value and stackable. Rubies and saphires would have also worked except that they just are not as available as ectos are. So, while zkeys value may remain more constant or even go higher, they are just not available in high volumes making them not a good choice for converting gold...after all, this is what ectos comes down to, not investment but rather a conversion of gold.
